Search engine is a site that has a large database that is designed to index the Internet addresses. Information that can be read in the form of text, image, voice or video. To implement these tasks, search engines have a special program that is usually called the spider bot, or crawler. At the time you register a web address (URL), the spider search engine will receive and analyze the URL. With the process and procedures for certain, this spider web will decide whether you list the acceptable or not. If feasible, spider will add the URL address and read all the content, or content that is. A web ranking is determined by the method in accordance with certain standards of each search engine. So, in general, all search engines have a program called Spider. And this is the program that actually determine whether your web site can be accepted or not. Examples of some popular search engines are Google, Yahoo, AltaVista, All The Web, and MSN Search. Currently, AltaVista and AllTheWeb was bought by Yahoo, so that they can be said as a group and use the same database. Therefore there are only 3 major players that you need to give special attention, namely Google, MSN Search, and Yahoo.
